These product specifications define the requirements for electrical behavior and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of on-board electrical, electronic, and pyrotechnic equipment. The requirements defined in these product specifications are references for tenders to Suppliers. Each Supplier can suggest adaptations of tests (methods, levels) resulting in cost reductions of the equipment or additional constraints without over-costs. The RENAULT system official (in accordance with the RENAULT EMC official) must define to the Supplier the requirements selected. Without Supplier propositions and written response of RENAULT, this standard applies completely. Equipment is validated when it meets test specifications both for equipment and for vehicles. The tests on equipment shall be realized with an environment representative of the vehicle operating mode. (system validation) The tests on vehicle are used to make a final determination about electromagnetic compatibility performance of equipment.

The purpose of this standard defines the requirements to observe in order to ensure the electrical behavior and the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of the vehicles (specific vehicles and utility vehicles) and of associated electric, electronic and pyrotechnic equipment. The requirements defined in the standard constitute the reference for Supplier consultation. The PSA development head (in agreement with the PSA head of ECM and electric validations) should define for the Supplier the retained requirements. Without Supplier proposal and PSA written agreement, this document is applied integrally. Equipment is validated when it meets the test requirements on equipment or on vehicle. These tests on equipment should be carried out in an environment representing the operating mode on vehicle (system validation). Any project has an independent electric and ECM independent validation: A validation obtained on a vehicle project is not systematically renewable on another vehicle project. The general requirements relating to the electric and electronic equipment environment tests of the vehicles are listed in standard B21 7100.

This engineering standard defines the EMC performance requirements for electrical and electronic components and systems in vehicles. It describes the test methods and specifies the test levels and limits. The objective is to assure the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of vehicles. This standard applies to all electrical and electronic components and systems installed in Daimler vehicles. It shall be used in combination with MBN 10284-1 that defines the EMC performance requirements for vehicle tests. All deviations shall be explicitly agreed and documented in the Lastenheft (component product specification).

The purpose of ISO 7637-2 is to ensure electromagnetic compatibility of passenger and commercial vehicles operating on 12V or 24V electrical systems. ISO 7637-2 requires multiple conducted transients to be coupled onto DC lines to test the compatibility of vehicles. This standard is applicable to both internal combustion engine and electric motor vehicles.   Equipment Required: Transient Generator - HILO CAR TEST 14 Oscilloscope - Tektronix MDO4104C Differential Probe - Probe Master 4234 ISO 7637-2 Test Pulses The following tables show data that highlights Pulse 1, Pulse 2a, Pulse 2b, Pulse 3a, and Pulse 3b. Pulse 1 ISO 7637-2 Pulse 1 is used to simulate the transients created in the case that a motor, or inductive load, is disconnected from the circuit.    Parameters of this pulse can be verified using an oscilloscope and differential probe to meet the specifications below. Pulse 2a ISO 7637-2 Pulse 2a is used to simulate transients that occur when there is a current interruption on a device in parallel with the DUT and caused by the wiring harness inductance. Pulse 2b ISO 7637-2 Pulse 2b is used to simulate transients when a vehicle is turned off, but electric DC motors remain active and serve as a generator. Pulse 3a The pulse 3a is similar to an EFT pulse as seen in IEC 61000-4-4 (HYPERLINK THIS), this transient waveform is simulating switching occuring in a system connected by a wiring harness, in which the load is capacitive or inductive. Pulse 3b Similar to pulse 3a, except opposite polarity. Pulse 3b is another EFT waveform representing switching within a wire harness. DailmerChrysler DC-10540 is an acceptance specification for the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements of electrical and electronic components and modules that reference this standard. The DailmerChrysler DC-10540's electrical requirements are contained in a separate document, PF-10541, which shall be referenced whenever this document is referenced. The requirements have been developed to assure compliance with present and anticipated domestic and foreign regulations and customer satisfaction regarding the EMC of vehicle E/E systems for MY 2004/2005 applications. DailmerChrysler DC-10540 is partially harmonized with the joint engineering standard, DC-10614 and will be replaced by DC-10614 for MY 2006/2007 and beyond applications when so referenced in the product specification.

This joint engineering standard defines the elctromagnetic compatibility requirements for components and subassemblies that contain electrical or electronic components for DaimlerChrysler vehicles and applies to all electrical and electronic components that reference this standard. The purpose of this joint engineering standard is to ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) within the vehicle and between the vehicle and its electromagnetic environment. To support this, bench tests of the immunity requirements are defined in this standard. Deviations from the requirements contained in this standard are only allowed if agreed explicitly between the supplier and the appropriate vehicle line within DaimlerChrysler and documented in the applicable product specification(s). The purpose of component testing is the pre-qualification of components from the supplier at a time when representative vehicles are not yet available. In addition to meeting the requirements for a module or component as specified in this standard, the module or component must comply with DaimlerChrysler Standard DC-10613. Vehicle testing is authoritative for EMC approval. The supplier shall comply with this standard and ensure that the current edition is used.
