PCB 086D20 Impact Hammer
The PCB 086D20 Impact Hammer features a rugged, force sensor that is integrated into its striking surface. The force sensor provides a measurement of the amplitude and frequency content of the energy stimulus that is imparted to a test object.
Accelerometers are used in conjunction with the PCB 086D20 Impact Hammer to provide a measurement of the object’s structural response due to the hammer blow. Using multi-channel data acquisition and analysis software in tangent with the PCB 086D20, the test engineer can ascertain a variety of mechanical properties leading to an understanding of an object’s structural behavioral characteristics. Items analyzed can include resonance detection, mode shapes, transfer characteristics, and structural health – such as crack and fatigue detection.
