ATEC is the leading provider of vector network analyzer rentals, carrying a broad inventory of instruments capable of troubleshooting a system in order to maintain the network's quality.
What Is a Vector Network Analyzer?
Also called a VNA or a VNA analyzer, these tools verify the performance of components like filters, cables, antenna, amplifiers, and more, ensuring that a component’s system performance meets system and subsystem specifications. VNAs are most commonly used for RF system and RF microwave system troubleshooting; they measure a signal's output compared to its input as opposed to a
spectrum analyzer which measures the quality of a single signal. Without this equipment, the communications, automotive, and medical industries would all be greatly impacted.
VNAs determine whether an adjustment is needed to improve a system’s operation. They do this by emitting a signal and measuring its input and output. Then the device monitors both signal transmission and reflection. Once the analysis is complete, a field technician can document and address any problems found during testing. A VNA is often portable and durable, making for a user-friendly experience.
However, they also need frequent user calibration to ensure proper function, as well as annual calibration from an ISO-17025 accredited lab. ATEC's lab can calibrate certain VNAs.
