Mixed signal oscilloscopes (MSO) are used when measuring timing on digital logic circuitry. Electrical systems have multiple input and output signals including both analog and digital mixed signals. Having the ability to confirm functionality or troubleshoot an electronic circuit with one test setup saves time and provides better testing results. The mixed signal oscilloscope has the base architecture of a digital storage scope with additional features included, as mentioned above. An MSO is comparable to the operation of a logic analyzer, displaying logic ones and zeros, and measuring timing on multiple channels. This tool is practical for many lab applications where analog, digital, and mixed signal devices are tested.
